Developing authentic leaders
is one of the biggest challenges for all those involved in leadership
development.
By “authentic” we
mean leaders who display effective leadership behaviours whilst
being true to their personal values and beliefs – leaders
who do not “wear a mask” or seek to change their personalities!
At The Oxford Group we specialise in developing leaders “from
the inside out”. We help leaders to understand that effective
leadership behaviour will be an outcome from reflecting deeply
on critical questions about their purpose, identity, values and
beliefs; and then putting their resolutions into action.
At this
briefing, Nigel Purse, Head of The Oxford Group’s Leadership
faculty, will present our most recent findings and observations
from designing and delivering long term, in house leadership programmes
for some of the world’s most respected organisations.
In
particular, you will have the opportunity to challenge your own
beliefs about your personal performance and development as a leader,
in the following areas:
- Have you taken accountability at a deep,
emotional level, for developing yourself as a leader?
- What is
your true identity as a leader? What will your leadership legacy
be?
- How effectively are you recognising, creating and seizing
your leadership “critical incidents” in your current
role?
By attending you will:
- Gain an insight into the latest
thinking on how to develop authentic leaders
- Experience a range
of personal leadership development exercises
- Appreciate the need
to challenge leaders to take accountability for their own performance
and development
- Have the opportunity to share ideas and experiences
with leaders from a wide range of organisations
