Nick Cowley




Nick joined The Oxford Group in 1994 and has been integral to the growth and development of the organisation throughout this period. He leads new sales and business development, ensures the quality of relationship with existing clients, and remains involved in the design of solutions. Nick is also an author and Executive Coach.

Business background

Nick had a corporate background with British Airways, Bayer AG, and Whitbread in senior line management, HR, and OD roles including four years in the Middle East. Nick has had corporate expertise in leading and working on international projects, participating in merger and acquisition activity, significant organisational change programmes, and designing and implementing broad learning and development architecture. Nick joined The Oxford Group as a Principal Consultant in 1994.

Client successes

Nick has overall responsibility for the acquisition, retention and growth of client relationships over the long term. Nick personally relationship manages a portfolio of clients both national and international and manages The Oxford Group’s global team of Relationship Account Managers.

Nick is responsible for the global sales and business development activities of The Oxford Group.

In 2013, Nick led the research, development, and design of The Oxford Group’s 5 Conversations programme and co-authored the best-selling book. This approach shows managers how, when, and why to hold five heartfelt, courageous, and authentic conversations with their team which lead to improved workplace relationships and increased employee engagement.

As an Executive Coach he works with senior executives in a range of clients including 3i, Anglo American, BSkyB, BT, Christie’s, Johnson & Johnson, Hearst UK, MOD Police, NHS, SIG, William Hill, Transport for London, Henderson Global, and HM Government.
